Lunapark (Prince’s İslands)
Büyükada Lunapark Durağı

About this place
Lunapark on Büyükada is not an amusement park but one of the island’s best-known transport and orientation points, marking the higher part of the route toward the pine-covered interior. It developed as a practical stop on the island road network and today functions as a familiar landmark for visitors heading to picnic areas, viewpoints, and walking routes. The setting reflects Büyükada’s relaxed historic character, with wooded slopes, open roadside space, and a simple transit-stop layout rather than monumental architecture. Its significance is mainly local and functional, helping visitors navigate one of Istanbul’s most distinctive car-free island environments.
Getting there: Lunapark stop is reached by first taking a ferry to Büyükada pier, then continuing by island shuttle/bus toward the upper road; the stop itself is directly on the route, about 0–50 m from drop-off points and 1 minute on foot.
Note: This is an outdoor transport stop, so wear comfortable shoes for uphill walking and bring water, sun protection, or a light layer depending on season. In summer and on weekends, ferries and island vehicles can be crowded, so start early for a more comfortable trip.
