Değirmen Burnu Nature Park is a scenic coastal green space on Heybeliada, one of the Princes’ Islands, valued more for its landscape and leisure setting than for monumental architecture. The area combines pine-shaded slopes, open picnic grounds, and broad sea views toward Istanbul, creating a calm retreat from the city center. Its character reflects the island’s traditional low-rise, nature-oriented atmosphere, where motor traffic is limited and outdoor life shapes the visitor experience. Today it is popular for walking, relaxing, and enjoying panoramic viewpoints over the Marmara Sea.

Getting there: From Heybeliada Ferry Pier, the park is about 1,400 m away, roughly a 20–25 minute walk uphill. Visitors arriving by Şehir Hatları or other island ferries can also reach the area by local electric island vehicle or taxi, then continue a short walk to the entrance.

Note: Wear comfortable shoes, especially in warm weather, as island roads can be sloped and sunny. Bring water, sun protection, and a light layer for breezy seaside conditions. Weekends and summer afternoons are the busiest times for picnics, so earlier visits are better for a quieter experience.
