Yörükali Plaji (Prince’s Islands)

About this place

Yörükali Beach is one of Büyükada’s best-known seaside recreation spots, developed as a classic island beach facility rather than a historic monument. Set along the Marmara coast, it combines a broad shoreline, sunbathing platforms, and simple leisure amenities with the relaxed character that defines the Princes’ Islands. Its appeal comes from sea views, pine-scented surroundings, and the nostalgic atmosphere of Büyükada, where motor traffic is limited and coastal life feels slower than in central Istanbul.

Getting there: From Büyükada Ferry Pier, the beach is about 3,200 m away; the trip usually takes 10–15 minutes by island shuttle or taxi and around 40–50 minutes on foot along the coastal road.

Note: Beach clubs are busiest on summer weekends and public holidays, so arriving early helps with finding good seating and avoiding ferry crowds. Bring swimwear, sun protection, water, and light clothing, and check whether sunbed, umbrella, food, or transfer services are included in the entrance fee before entering.
