Moda Pier is a small but distinctive waterfront landmark on Istanbul’s Asian shore, originally built in the early 20th century as part of the district’s growing maritime network. Its modest scale, elegant proportions, and seaside setting reflect the late Ottoman and early Republican character that shaped Kadıköy’s coastal identity. Though primarily known as a transport point, it is also appreciated for its historical atmosphere, views of the Marmara Sea, and connection to Moda’s long urban memory. The pier is especially photogenic at sunset, when the façade and promenade gain a warm coastal glow.

Getting there: The nearest stop is Moda İskelesi bus stop, about 50 m away, roughly 1 minute on foot. From Kadıköy ferry terminal and transport hub, the pier is around 1.2 km away, about 15–18 minutes walking or a short bus ride. The heritage tram in Moda and nearby neighborhood bus routes also provide easy access.

Note: This is an outdoor waterfront site, so wear windproof layers in cooler months and use sun protection in summer. Visit in the late afternoon for softer light and calmer views, but expect more local foot traffic on weekends and at sunset.
