Beykoz Mecidiye Pavilion is a 19th-century Ottoman imperial pavilion commissioned during the reign of Sultan Abdülmecid and later associated with the National Palaces administration. Designed in an elegant eclectic style with strong Empire and Neoclassical influences, it reflects the Westernizing taste of the late Ottoman court while preserving the ceremonial character of a Bosphorus residence. Its richly decorated interiors, grand halls, and carefully composed façade make it an important example of imperial architecture on Istanbul’s Asian shore.

Getting there: The nearest major public transport point is Beykoz bus stop on the coastal road, about 350 m away, around 5 minutes on foot; buses connect the area with Üsküdar and nearby Bosphorus districts.

Note: As a museum-palace site, it is best visited on weekday mornings for a quieter experience. Check opening days before going, as National Palaces venues may close on specific weekdays or during official events, and allow extra time for security and garden walks.
