Polonezköy Nature Park is a large green escape on Istanbul’s Asian side, known for its forested landscape, picnic grounds, and village atmosphere shaped by the area’s 19th-century Polish settlement history. Rather than monumental architecture, the site is valued for its natural scenery, walking routes, and rustic countryside character that contrasts with the dense urban core. It has become a popular weekend retreat for families, hikers, and visitors seeking fresh air among tall trees and open meadows.

Getting there: The closest practical public transport access is via buses serving Polonezköy center; from the village stop, the park entrances are roughly 500–1200 meters away, about 7–15 minutes on foot depending on the recreation area used. Many visitors also arrive by car or taxi from Beykoz, Kavacık, or Ümraniye because direct rail access is not available.

Note: Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water, especially in warm weather, as paths and picnic areas are spread out. Weekends and holidays are the busiest times, so arriving early is best for parking, quieter trails, and shaded picnic spots.
