Hagia Triada Greek Orthodox Church is one of Istanbul’s most prominent 19th-century Greek Orthodox landmarks, built in 1880 near Taksim Square on the site of an older cemetery and chapel. Its design blends Neo-Baroque and Neo-Classical influences, with twin bell towers, a large central dome, and an elegant façade that stands out among the surrounding urban fabric. The richly decorated interior features icons, chandeliers, marble details, and painted surfaces that reflect the continuity of the city’s historic Rum Orthodox community. It remains an active place of worship as well as an important symbol of Beyoğlu’s multicultural past.

Getting there: Taksim Metro Station and Taksim Square bus stops are about 250 m away, roughly a 3–4 minute walk; the Taksim–Kabataş funicular is also nearby at around 400 m.

Note: As this is an active church, visitors should dress modestly, keep voices low, and avoid entering during services unless attending worship. Interior access may be limited during religious ceremonies, and photography should be discreet and respectful.
