Üsküdar Ferry Terminal is one of Istanbul’s long-standing Bosphorus ferry hubs and an essential link between the Asian and European sides of the city. The current structure reflects practical early Republican civic architecture, with a restrained exterior, spacious waiting areas, and a waterfront character shaped by everyday maritime use. More than a landmark, it forms part of Istanbul’s living transport heritage, where ferries have connected districts, commerce, and commuters for generations. Its position beside historic Üsküdar places it on one of the city’s oldest inhabited shorelines.

Getting there: Üsküdar Marmaray station is about 150 m away, around 2 minutes on foot; Üsküdar Metro station is roughly 250 m away, about 4 minutes walking. Main bus and minibus stops at Üsküdar Square are within approximately 100–200 m, and the terminal opens directly onto the waterfront.

Note: Ferries are busiest on weekday mornings, late afternoons, and around sunset, so allow extra time for queues at turnstiles and boarding gates. Keep an Istanbulkart topped up for faster access, and check the departure pier carefully since several routes leave from nearby docks. In windy or rainy weather, decks can be slippery and crossings feel cooler than inland areas.
