Kadıköy İskele is one of Istanbul’s best-known ferry terminals and a long-standing gateway between the Asian and European sides of the city. The present complex reflects practical late Ottoman and early Republican transport architecture, shaped more by function than monumentality. Its waterfront setting, clock tower views, and constant movement of ferries make it an important part of the district’s urban identity. Beyond transport, it serves as a social meeting point at the heart of Kadıköy’s historic coastal life.

Getting there: Kadıköy ferry terminal and bus hub are directly on site; Kadıköy metro station is about 250 m away, around 4 minutes on foot, and the T3 nostalgic tram stop is roughly 150 m away, about 2 minutes walking.

Note: Arrive early during weekday rush hours and weekend evenings, when ferry platforms and surrounding squares become very crowded. Carry a light jacket in windy weather, as the Bosphorus breeze can feel strong even in mild seasons.
