Eminönü İskele is one of Istanbul’s historic waterfront transport hubs, positioned where the Golden Horn meets the Bosphorus and the old commercial quarter opens to the sea. The piers have long served as a gateway between the Historic Peninsula, Galata, Kadıköy, Üsküdar, and the Princes’ Islands, making the area important to the city’s daily rhythm and maritime identity. Architecturally, the site is functional rather than monumental, with modern ferry platforms, ticket areas, and open quays framed by landmark views of mosques, bridges, and the shoreline skyline. Getting there: Eminönü ferry piers are about 100–250 m from Eminönü tram stop on the T1 line, roughly a 2–4 minute walk depending on the specific pier. The area is also directly served by major bus stops and is within about 900 m of Sirkeci Marmaray, around 10–12 minutes on foot.

Note: Arrive early in the morning or before sunset for lighter crowds and the best Bosphorus views, as the square and piers become very busy during commuter peaks and weekends. Wear weather-appropriate layers because the waterfront can be windy, and keep an eye on departure boards since different piers serve different routes.
