The Mansion from the TV Series “Yalı Çapkını”

About this place

Sakıp Sabancı Yalısı is a distinguished Bosphorus waterfront mansion in Beylerbeyi, associated with one of Türkiye’s prominent business families and the refined residential culture of the late Ottoman and early Republican eras. Its elegant yalı architecture reflects the classic timber-and-masonry shoreline mansion tradition, with symmetrical façades, broad windows, and direct visual contact with the water. Like many Bosphorus yalıs, it represents the prestige of elite summer living along the strait and forms part of the historic urban silhouette of Üsküdar’s Asian shore.

Getting there: The closest stop is Beylerbeyi bus stop, about 250 m away, roughly a 3–4 minute walk. From the European side, ferries to Üsküdar followed by a short bus or taxi ride are the most practical route. Marmaray Üsküdar station is farther away, around 4 km, so public bus connections are usually needed.

Note: This is a private waterfront residence viewed mainly from the outside, not a standard walk-in museum or palace. The best experience is to admire it from the coastal road or from a Bosphorus boat tour, especially in clear daylight. Wear comfortable shoes for the sloped neighborhood streets and expect limited stopping space along the shoreline.
