Elmasburnu National Park is a protected coastal recreation area on Istanbul’s Black Sea edge in Riva, valued more for its natural setting than for monumental history. The park combines forested slopes, picnic grounds, and a sheltered shoreline, offering a calmer alternative to the city’s denser urban parks. Its landscape is defined by green hills descending toward the sea, with simple visitor facilities rather than ornate architecture. The appeal lies in open-air leisure, sea views, and a family-friendly environment close to nature.

Getting there: The closest practical public transport access is the Riva bus stop in central Riva, about 1,200 m away, roughly a 15–18 minute walk. Visitors usually reach Riva by bus from Beykoz or nearby districts, then continue on foot or by taxi to the park entrance.

Note: Bring sun protection, water, and suitable walking shoes, especially in summer when the coast can feel exposed and busy. Weekends and holiday mornings are the most crowded times for parking, picnics, and beach use, so arriving early is advisable.
